Wii U Unveiled and Launch Titles!

At this morning’s conference besides telling us about new exciting titles and release dates Nintendo showed us some highly impressive graphics to exemplify what the Wii U will be capable of, but rather than showcasing their new console they focused on its new controller and capabilities. Calling it a controller, however, doesn’t do it justice. This new accessory device, simply referred to as “the new controller” for now, virtually does EVERYTHING from functioning as a computer tablet with online capabilities, working as a substitute TV screen when an actual TV is not available, to even a device for video chatting.

Here are the official controller specs from Nintendo:

The new controller incorporates a 6.2-inch, 16:9 touch screen and traditional button controls, including two analog Circle Pads. This combination removes the traditional barriers between games, players and the TV by creating a second window into the video game world. The rechargeable controller includes a Power button, Home button, +Control Pad, A/B/X/Y buttons, L/R buttons and ZL/ZR buttons. It includes a built-in accelerometer and gyroscope, rumble feature, camera, a microphone, stereo speakers, a sensor strip and a stylus.

The game possibilities that open up with something like this seem near endless and this fact is highly recognized by many 3rd party developers as expressed in a series of video testimonies by the CEOs and game directors of a couple of companies who not just promised support but also a couple of exciting launch titles.

Launch Title List for Wii U:

Darksiders II, Batman Arkham City, Assassin’s Creed, Dirt, Aliens: Colonial Marines, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Online, Metro Last Light, Tekken, Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge, Lego City Stories.

Smash Bros. was confirmed for the Wii U alongside a simultaneous release for the 3DS but it was not specified as a launch title. Masahiro Sakurai recently confirmed that these games are barely at the beginning stages of development.

It has become obvious that Nintendo once again wants to capture the market by leading through innovation and has the purpose of providing gamers with a deeper game experience and a wider appeal. They want to be able to serve everyone and as Reggie Fils put it, he knows that we all had fun with the wii and that their new one will absolutely be the perfect fit for you –hence the U in the new console’s name.  What do you think?

E3 3DS Games and Features Update!

Nintendo’s press release opened with hints at their new consoles direction, but before revealing any further they discussed what we can expect to see coming for the 3DS this holiday season and beyond.

Mario Kart 3DS: Aside from the standards we’ve become used to this game will now feature some sort of  hang glider mode for the karts during long jumps, and the option to customize vehicles further, for example different style and sized wheels.

Release Date: Holiday Season

Star Fox 3DS: A port/remake of the original Star Fox 64 which will have the option of using the normal button controls or the gyroscope capabilities to control the ships. In multiplayer mode the 3DS inner (player-facing) cameras will capture and transmit the faces of all players in real time so that you can see their faces of frustration and defeat as you win.

Mario 3DS: one of the most exciting announcements today finally gave us a better taste of what we can expect out Mario 3DS. The teaser we were shown featured old and new enemies and elements (such as the musical note bouncy blocks and the tanooki suit), which left me with the impression that this game will be an amazing mix between Mario Galaxy, Mario 64, Super Mario Bros. 3, and Super Mario World.

Kid Ikarus Uprising: Will feature both aerial and ground battles, and a 3 vs 3 multiplayer mode.

Luigi’s mansion: A new installment of the game is being brought to life for the 3DS under the same concept of fending of ghosts with a vacuum cleaner.

Also, the new firmware update for the 3DS unlocks game trailers from today’s E3 presentation, the virtual shop where The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening will be available today, and where Nintendo will be offering 3D classics Excite Bike and a Pokedex app for free. The Pokedex will include 16 registered Pokémon and to collect them all players will have to use spot pass, exchange with friends, special Augmented Reality (AR) markers and other such things which will be exclusive to the Nintendo 3DS eShop.

I think, therefore I am.

We all want what we can’t have. We all think that we’re missing something. We all think at some point that our feelings are being ignored by others while at that same time we may be knowingly or inadvertently ignoring the feelings of others as well. One of those vicious cycles in life. We like to think that our needs are so simple that if the one thing we desire is attained every issue in our lives will somehow be resolved, or will at least be put back on track to having a prompt solution. But that’s not true because then we want more.  We want more due to that what we wanted was not what we expected, and if it is maybe there is more to be had, better. What we have or get may have some great, minuscule, or no flaw at all, but in the end it’s usually not what we idealized. Key word, idealized. Everyone has their own reality. Reality is subjective. Sure, the same variables may come into play for people in the same space and time but every single one of them will perceive them in a slightly different way, maybe because of different sensory perception, different brain chemistry, different physiology, and of course different pscyhe. Whatever the reason may be what we want is never 100% what we think it will be because of its inherent properties that cannot be altered despite what we may think or believe about them. The same goes for our notion of what is meant to be and what isn’t. Predetermination vs Make your own story. Personally, I like to believe I write my own story every second that I live, but there are times where I want to believe so badly that some things are just meant to be. Maybe that’s what one calls hope. The belief and feeling of wanting something to be true. It’s nice to “hope” for things and situations, but I think in many occasions, as is with me,  it leads people to over-thinking and inaction, or in other words to put at least a certain portion if not their whole  lives in some sort of cryogenic state where life will resume only with the advent of the things hoped for. Either way, people want, idealize, hope for, attain or fail to attain, and then proceed to wanting again, a lot of the time without pausing and asking why, and more importantly without taking a moment to appreciate and enjoy what they already achieved, what they have, whatever is already in front of them. Next time you “want”, please take a moment to look at your surroundings, think about, and enjoy “what is”, then if you’re still unhappy about missing something feel free to join back in into the cycle.

Overnight Trips by Plane Travel=FML?

This post is probably many, many years too late but traveling by air is such a bitch. Last minute searching of the hobbit-sized toiletries just plain fuckin’ sucks ass, and having to purchase shaving devices upon arrival for a one night stay is ridiculous but inevitable since I have an interview. Who would’ve thought that carry-on luggage could be so inconvenient.

My night packing basically went like this.

Yah…that basically summarizes it.

Kool WIN!

Despite what this blog may indicate my life is pretty awesome and I should have amazing things to write and say about it, awesomeness like only baby Velociraptor Jesus would understand, but my fingers just don’t want to do it so instead I’ll leave you with this EPIC WIN!   I saw posted in one of the elevators at work.

I should have you note that the Kool-Aid man is a cutout glued onto that notice by someone passing by.

Dumber than Yogurt

The other day I was having a conversation with a friend about our recent experiences with hot yet dumb as rocks women. Such beautiful houses, and such a terrible shame no one’s home.

Conversation excerpt:

Me: “yeah, although didn’t you say she’s pretty dumb?”

Friend: “dude, she’s dumber than yogurt.”

Friend makes a pause, you can see epiphany happening.

Friend: “yogurt doesn’t even have a brain!!!”

Me: “I’ve always thought that I have the bad habit of somehow ending up liking, attracting, or dating girls with the intellect of a sea cucumber.”

Friend: “Word.”

Not to say that I’ll pass up a hot girl because she’s not smart, but the brain can’t help but wonder…

Sometimes Life Feels Like This.

“We’re sorry, the life you have requested is currently unavailable or no longer in service, please try again later.”

BEEEEEEEEP!

Getting Started

I thought I wanted a blog to post my random thoughts as I got them, but it turns out that just like anything else in my life , I over-analyze everything I say as I type, and therefore end up killing most of its spontaneity. Oh well. C’es la vie, no?

I hope to aspire to writing epic posts like Barney Stinson, Tucker Max, or contribute to the world something of value like that one retarded guy on a wheel chair that’s actually not retarded at all, what’s his name? oh yeah Stephen Hawking. We’ll see. In the meantime enjoy my meaningless rants, and hopefully you’ll take away something from them, thus making them not meaningless at all.
